1. What is the Window Sensor W1?
It’s an advanced wireless sensor that communicates with the receiver installed on the air conditioner and sends it a shutdown signal when it senses that the windows or balcony door (or both) have been opened. You avoid wasting electricity (and money) uselessly trying to cool a room where warm air is coming in through an open window.
2. Why wireless?
For years, hotels have used wired solutions that cut the power supply to the indoor unit when the window is opened. But this type of solution is daunting for hoteliers, because wires have to be run from the air conditioner to the windows, with unsightly wiring or ducting in view, with increased installation costs.
SaveOnAirCo’ W1, with its wireless technology, solves these problems, and costs significantly less.
3. Is installation simple?
Absolutely! SaveOnAirCo’ W1 comes with a small radio receiver that is installed on the air conditioner with a minor intervention on the power supply. The operation is really very simple, and a good electrician can do the job in less than 5 minutes. The receiver must be paired with the sensor (full instructions are supplied with the product) which is then attached to the window, using the practical double-sided adhesive tape that is also supplied. Once this simple job is done, SaveOnAirCo’ W1 is ready to shut down your air conditioner as soon as it senses that the window or balcony door is open.
4. Does it also work with fan coils?
It certainly does. Installation of the radio receiver requires a minor intervention on the power supply, as already mentioned. This can be done indiscriminately for both normal split air conditioners and fan coil units. The receiver can be set to either “normally closed” or “normally open” mode, so it can also function on any solenoid valves.
Thanks to SaveOnAirCo’ W1 the fan coils will switch off when your guests open the window.
5. Can I use SaveOnAirCo' W1 together with your remote controls?
Certainly! By doing so you will save even more energy and maximize the benefits.
6. Do I need power transformers?
Absolutely not! The SaveOnAirCo’ W1 receiver runs on a normal 220 volt power supply, while the magnetic sensor takes a normal AAA battery, more commonly called “mini stylus”. The product is then ready to be installed with no additional equipment needed.
